You should be able to drive for a specific period of time. They give you a piece of paper that says, this is your license for the next 30 days. And they will go ahead and start processing that information to their system. And it should spit out a letter that is mailed to the address on your driver’s license.

And on that letter, it says that you have 30 days to have your DUI heard, or you have 30 days to have an attorney request that it be heard in that time. And if the court can’t accommodate, then request an extension. And if you don’t do it, then they will give you a date on that letter that says your license will be suspended effective this date, which means you should be able to drive for a period of time.
